What You Need to Know About Canine Influenza


Canine influenza (also known as dog flu) is a highly contagious respiratory disease known to affect dogs. There have been a few cases that have been reported on the island of Oahu, however, these dogs have been contained and treated. There have been no other cases or outbreaks known to date. The Canine Influenza (CIV H3N2/H3N8) vaccine is currently available at Ohana Veterinary Hospital. Please contact us about scheduling an appointment for your dog to get vaccinated and help protect your dog against both strains of dog flu.


*CIV Booster Reminder*

Don't forget to booster your pet's Canine Influenza vaccine!  Your pet's Canine Influenza vaccination is due annually.  Please contact us to schedule an appointment before it is overdue.  Otherwise, you will need to repeat the booster series again.

Booster series: 2 vaccinations 2-6 weeks apart, then annually thereafter.
