Dr. John Kaya
Dr. John Kaya is a class of 85 graduate of Moanalua High School. He attended the University of Hawaii and received a Bachelor of Education in 1989, then graduated from the University of Minnesota with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Dr. Kaya’s educational background comes in handy when he visits schools to educate children about proper pet care and when he appears on the KHON Evening News for his monthly segment Pet Health Watch. Some may remember “The Wild Side”, a whimsical column highlighting Dr. Kaya’s adventures in veterinary medicine and previously featured in the MidWeek newspaper. In his free time, Dr. Kaya enjoys gardening, skin diving, and singing karaoke with his friends and family. He especially enjoys spending time with his wife, Jan, and their two children, Jada and Jake.
